Ambulatory electroencephalography (aEEG) is a prolonged EEG recording that monitors a patient’s brain activity over an extended period, typically 24 to 72 hours, in a naturalistic setting outside of a hospital. Unlike a routine, 30- to 60-minute EEG performed in a doctor’s office, an aEEG significantly increases the chances of capturing infrequent or hard-to-detect neurological events.
